Dolor pélvico intermenstrual - Overview

Definición:

Es un dolor abdominal bajo y en un solo lado que ocurre en las mujeres cuando están próximas a ovular o en plena ovulación (liberación del óvulo de los ovarios).

Causas:

Alrededor de 1 de cada 5 mujeres experimenta el dolor pélvico intermenstrual o dolor asociado con la ovulación. El dolor puede aparecer justo antes, durante o después de la ovulación.

Existen varias explicaciones para la causa de este dolor. Justo antes de la ovulación, el crecimiento de folículo puede distender la superficie del ovario y causar el dolor. Al momento de la ovulación, se libera líquido o sangre del folículo del óvulo roto y puede causar irritación del revestimiento abdominal.
