Infección vaginal por levaduras

Infección de la vagina por levaduras; candidiasis vaginal; vaginitis moniliásica

Síntomas:

secreción vaginal anormal
- varía de una secreción blanca ligeramente acuosa a un flujo blanco espeso y abundante (de aspecto similar al requesón)
- ardor y prurito en los labios y en la vagina
- enrojecimiento y/o inflamación de la piel de la vulva
- relaciones sexuales dolorosas
- micción dolorosa

Signos y exámenes:

Se debe realizar un examen pélvico en el que se puede observar inflamación de la piel de la vulva , el interior de la vagina y el cuello uterino. Es posible que el médico detecte placas blancas y secas en la pared vaginal.

Un frotis vaginal ( evaluación microscópica de la secreción vaginal ) muestra la presencia de Cándida.
