Ludopatía - Overview

Juego patológico o ludomanía; Juego compulsivo; Adicción al juego

Definición:

Es el hecho de ser incapaz de resistir los impulsos a jugar, lo cual puede llevar a graves consecuencias personales o sociales.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La ludopatía generalmente empieza a comienzos de la adolescencia en los hombres y entre los 20 y 40 años en las mujeres.

La ludopatía a menudo involucra comportamientos repetitivos. Las personas con este problema tienen dificultad para resistirse o controlar el impulso a jugar. Aunque comparte características del trastorno obsesivo compulsivo, la ludopatía probablemente es una afección diferente.

En las personas que desarrollan ludopatía, el juego ocasional lleva al juego habitual. Las situaciones estresantes pueden empeorar los problemas del juego.
