La depresión en los ancianos puede ser difícil de detectar debido a varios factores. Los síntomas como fatiga, pérdida del apetito y problemas para dormir también pueden ser parte del proceso de envejecimiento o de un problema médico.
Un examen físico ayudará a determinar si la depresión está siendo causada por una afección médica. Se puede llevar a cabo una evaluación psicológica y otros exámenes.
