Tratamiento:

Se recomienda terapia individual o familiar para los niños e individual y, de ser apropiado, terapia de pareja para los adultos. El cambio de sexo mediante la cirugía y la hormonoterapia son una opción, pero los problemas de identidad pueden continuar después de este tratamiento.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

El diagnóstico y tratamiento tempranos de este trastorno pueden llevar a un mejor desenlace clínico.
