Trastorno de alimentación en la lactancia y en la primera infancia - Treatment

Tratamiento:

Dependiendo de la gravedad de la afección, se pueden tomar las siguientes medidas:

  • Aumentar el nivel de calorías y la cantidad de líquidos consumidos por el bebé
  • Corregir cualquier deficiencia de vitaminas o minerales
  • Identificar y corregir los problemas psicosociales o enfermedades físicas subyacentes

Para lograr estos objetivos, se puede requerir un período corto de hospitalización.

Pronóstico:

No existe una cura rápida para la mayoría de los bebés y niños con trastornos de alimentación. La mayoría de estos trastornos son leves y de resolución espontánea. Se requiere un enfoque multidisciplinario que involucre pediatras, enfermeras especializadas, dietistas, trabajadores sociales, especialistas en conducta y los padres para mejorar el bienestar y estado nutricional del niño.

Posibles complicaciones:

La desnutrición en la niñez puede impedir el desarrollo físico y mental en caso de ser severa y prolongada, pero con el tratamiento oportuno se pueden prevenir tales complicaciones.

Solicite una cita con el pediatra si tiene preocupaciones con respecto al apetito, comportamiento, desarrollo o crecimiento de su hijo.
