Trastorno del lenguaje expresivo

Definición:

Es una afección en la cual un niño tiene una capacidad por debajo de lo normal en cuanto a vocabulario, producción de oraciones complejas y recordación de palabras. Sin embargo, los niños con este trastorno pueden tener las habilidades normales del idioma necesarias para entender la comunicación verbal o escrita.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Aproximadamente del 3 al 10% de todos los niños en edad escolar padecen el trastorno del lenguaje expresivo y es un asunto muy común en esta población.

Las causas de este trastorno no se comprenden bien. El daño al cerebro en el encéfalo y la desnutrición pueden ocasionar algunos casos. Los factores genéticos también pueden estar implicados.
