SÃndrome de dificultad respiratoria en bebés

SÃntomas:
- Respiración rápida
- Movimientos respiratorios inusuales, retracción muscular torácica al momento de respirar (ver tiraje intercostal )
- Dificultad respiratoria y ronquidos al respirar
- Aleteo nasal
- Ausencia temporal de la respiración
- Coloración azulada de la piel y de las membranas mucosas
- Inflamación o hinchazón de brazos y piernas
Signos y exámenes:
- GasometrÃa arterial que muestra bajos niveles de oxÃgeno y acidosis.
- RadiografÃa torácica que indica disnea (los pulmones presentan una apariencia caracterÃstica de "vidrio molido")
- PodrÃan requerirse estudios de la función pulmonar.
- Generalmente se hacen hemocultivos y análisis para septicemia con el fin de descartar cualquier tipo de infección y septicemia como causa de la disnea o dificultad para respirar.
