SÃntomas:
- Incapacidad para retener las heces (incontinencia intestinal)

- Estreñimiento y heces duras
- Evacuación ocasional de heces muy grandes que casi obstruyen el inodoro
Signos y exámenes:
El examen digital del área rectal puede mostrar retención fecal. Una radiografÃa abdominal puede confirmar la presencia de heces retenidas en el colon.
