Síndrome nefrótico de tipo congénito

Definición:

Es un trastorno que se transmite de padres a hijos en el cual un bebé presenta proteína en la orina e hinchazón del cuerpo. Congénito significa que está presente al nacer.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

El síndrome nefrótico congénito es un tipo muy raro de este síndrome que ocurre principalmente en familias de origen finlandés y se desarrolla poco después de nacer. Es hereditario, lo cual significa que se transmite de padres a hijos.

Los niños que sufren este trastorno tienen una forma anormal de una proteína llamada nefrina, que se encuentra en el riñón.
