Acondroplasia - Tratamiento

Tratamiento:

No existe un tratamiento específico para la acondroplasia. Se deben tratar las anomalías conexas, incluyendo la estenosis raquídea y la compresión de la médula espinal, cuando causan problemas.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Las personas con acondroplasia rara vez alcanzan a tener 1,52 m (5 pies) de estatura, pero su inteligencia está en el rango normal. Los bebés que reciben el gen anormal de sus dos padres generalmente no sobreviven más allá de unos pocos meses.

Complicaciones:

  • Pies zambos
  • Acumulación de líquido en el cerebro (hidrocefalia)
