Perlas de Epstein

Definición:

Son quistes blanquecinos y amarillentos que contienen proteína  y que se encuentran en las encías y en el paladar duro de un bebé recién nacido.

Las perlas de Epstein son una condición muy común que se presenta sólo en los neonatos y que afecta a aproximadamente al 80% de ellos. Cuando se localizan en las encías, a veces, se parecen a los dientes en erupción y aunque son inocuas, algunas veces causan gran preocupación a las madres primerizas.
