Enfermedad del arañazo de gato
Definición:
Es una enfermedad infecciosa causada por la bacteria bartonela. Se cree que esta enfermedad se trasmite por arañazos, mordeduras o exposición a la saliva de los gatos.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:
La enfermedad del arañazo de gato es causada por la Bartonella henselae . Se propaga mediante contacto con un gato infectado (mordedura o arañazo) o contacto de la piel rota o de la conjuntiva con la saliva del gato.
Alrededor de 2 a 3 semanas después de resultar infectado, se presenta hinchazón de los ganglios linfáticos ( linfadenopatÃa ) cerca al sitio del arañazo o mordedura.
Ocasionalmente, un ganglio infectado puede formar un túnel ( fÃstula ) a través de la piel y drenar. La enfermedad del arañazo de gato es una causa común de inflamación crónica de los ganglios linfáticos en niños.
