EAG; Fiebre por arañazo de gato; Bartonellosis
Es una enfermedad causada por la bacteria bartonela. Se cree que se trasmite por arañazos y mordeduras de gatos o exposición a la saliva de estos animales.
La enfermedad del arañazo de gato es causada por la Bartonellahenselae. La enfermedad se propaga a través del contacto con un gato infectado (mordedura o arañazo) o contacto con la saliva del gato sobre la piel rota o la esclerótica del ojo.
Alrededor de 2 a 3 semanas después de resultar infectado, se presenta hinchazón de los ganglios linfáticos ( linfadenopatía) cerca al sitio del arañazo o mordedura.
Ocasionalmente, un ganglio infectado puede formar un túnel ( fístula) a través de la piel y drenar (soltar líquido). La enfermedad del arañazo de gato es una causa común de inflamación crónica de los ganglios linfáticos en niños.
