Tratamiento:

Por lo regular, la enfermedad del arañazo de gato no es grave y generalmente no se necesita un tratamiento médico. En casos graves, el tratamiento con antibióticos como azitromicina puede ayudar.

En pacientes con SIDA y en otras personas inmunodeprimidas, la enfermedad del arañazo de gato es más seria y se recomienda el tratamiento con antibióticos.

Pronóstico:

En niños con sistemas inmunitarios normales, la norma es la recuperación total sin tratamiento. En las personas inmunocomprometidas, el tratamiento con antibióticos normalmente conduce a la recuperación.

Posibles complicaciones:

Encefalopatía
Neurorretinitis
Osteomielitis
Síndrome de Parinaud (conjuntivitis granulomatosa con adenopatía)
