Endoftalmitis
Definición:
La endoftalmitis es una afección grave en la que se produce inflamación (edema) dentro del ojo. La mayorÃa de las veces es causada por una infección por bacterias u otros microorganismos. También es una complicación poco frecuente de cataratas o cirugÃas oculares.
Los sÃntomas incluyen dolor, disminución de la visión, edema de los párpados y enrojecimiento. Si tiene estos sÃntomas después de una cirugÃa ocular, consulte a su médico inmediatamente.
