Quiste mucoso

Tratamiento:

Con frecuencia, un quiste mucoso se lo puede ignorar, pues tiende a romperse de manera espontánea. Una forma de ayudar a que se rompa es abrir la parte de arriba del saco o ampolla con una aguja estéril. Si el quiste reaparece, es posible que sea necesario extirparlo.

Para prevenir infecciones y daño a los tejidos, NO se recomienda que los padres rompan el saco o ampolla en casa, sino más bien que lo haga el médico. Los cirujanos orales y algunos odontólogos pueden extirpar fácilmente las lesiones en caso de que éstas continúen siendo molestas.

Complicaciones:

Generalmente no hay complicaciones.

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Si se vuelve muy molesto e incómodo, se debe pedir a un médico que examine el quiste durante un examen de rutina.
