Definición:

Es una afección en la cual el fondo de la lengua va pegado al piso de la boca por una banda de tejido llamada frenillo lingual.

Esta conexión restringe el movimiento (rango de movimiento) libre de la punta de la lengua.

Causas:

Se desconoce la causa exacta de la anquiloglosia.

Los genes pueden estar involucrados, debido a que esta afección se detecta con mayor frecuencia en ciertas familias.
