Pólipos nasales - Overview

Definición:

Son masas de tejido inflamado similares a sacos que recubren la nariz ( mucosa nasal) o los senos paranasales.

Causas:

Los pólipos nasales típicamente comienzan cerca de los senos etmoidales, localizados en la parte superior del interior de la nariz, y crecen hacia las áreas abiertas. Los pólipos grandes pueden obstruir los senos paranasales o la vía respiratoria nasal.

Las personas con las siguientes afecciones son más susceptibles a desarrollar también pólipos nasales:
