Tratamiento:

El tratamiento consiste en evaluar y tratar cualquier pérdida de la audición de forma que el niño pueda desenvolverse a un nivel normal en la escuela. Con la cirugía plástica, se puede corregir el mentón retraído y otros defectos.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Los niños con este síndrome en general crecen hasta convertirse en adultos de inteligencia normal que se desenvuelven también normalmente. La atención cuidadosa a cualquier problema auditivo ayuda a garantizar un mejor desempeño en la escuela.

Esta afección generalmente se hace evidente al nacer. Se debe consultar al médico si se tiene un hijo con síndrome de Treacher-Collins y la audición parece empeorar o si surgen otros problemas.
