Síndrome de Edwards
Es un trastorno genético en el cual una persona tiene una tercera copia del material del cromosoma 18, en lugar de las dos copias normales.
La trisomía 18 es un síndrome relativamente común y es tres veces más frecuente en las niñas que en los niños. El síndrome es causado por la presencia de un material adicional del cromosoma 18, que interfiere con el desarrollo normal.
