Tratamiento:

El tratamiento depende del sistema corporal afectado y de la gravedad del problema. Esta afección en sí misma no es curable, pero muchas de las complicaciones sí se pueden tratar.

Muchas comunidades tienen grupos de apoyo para el síndrome de Ellis-van Creveld, por lo que se le puede preguntar al médico o en el hospital local si hay una en el área.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

El pronóstico depende del sistema corporal comprometido y del nivel de compromiso del mismo.

Complicaciones:

Dificultad para respirar
Cardiopatía congénita, en especial una comunicación interauricular
Enfermedad renal
Anomalías óseas

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Se debe consultar con el médico si el niño presenta síntomas de este síndrome. Si la persona tiene una historia familiar con antecedentes del síndrome de Ellis-van Creveld y el niño presenta alguno de los síntomas mencionados, es mejor visitar al médico.
