Terapia con láser - Overview

Definición:

Es cualquier tratamiento que utiliza haces intensos de luz para hacer cortes, cauterizar o destruir un tejido con precisión. El término láser es el acrónimo en inglés de "amplificación de luz mediante emisión estimulada de radiación".

Información:

El haz de luz láser se genera a partir de fuentes de radiación tan pequeñas y seguras que no ofrece riesgos para la salud del paciente ni del equipo médico.

El láser se utiliza para muchos propósitos médicos. Debido a que el haz de luz láser es tan pequeño y preciso, permite a los médicos tratar un tejido específico de una forma segura, sin lesionar el área circundante. El láser se puede usar para extirpar tumores o cauterizar vasos sanguíneos, al igual que durante una cirugía de los ojos.
