Es comprensible que las tumoraciones o protuberancias en las mamas recientemente descubiertas causen temor y preocupación, pero el hecho es que sólo un pequeño porcentaje de éstas resultan ser un cáncer. De hecho, muchas mujeres tienen "tumoraciones en las mamas" o enfermedad fibroquística de las mamas que es una dolencia común y benigna (inofensiva).

Si la persona tiene esta afección, el examen de las mamas puede ser confuso y a veces alarmante. Es muy importante chequearse las mamas en el mismo momento cada mes y llamar la atención del médico acerca de cualquier cosa nueva o diferente que se sienta.
