Sistémico

Definición:

Significa que "afecta al cuerpo entero", en lugar de una sola parte o un solo órgano.

Por ejemplo, los trastornos sistémicos como la hipertensión o las enfermedades sistémicas como la gripe afectan a todo el cuerpo.

Una infección que está en el torrente sanguíneo se denomina infección sistémica; mientras que una infección que afecta solamente a una parte u órgano del cuerpo se llama una infección localizada.
