Es un material sintético (artificial) que se utiliza para reemplazar tejidos corporales normales y generalmente se fabrica en una forma tubular para utilizarlo en la sustitución o reparación de vasos sanguíneos. Este injerto causa muy pocas reacciones, dado que es químicamente inofensivo y el cuerpo lo tolera fácilmente.
