Iones

Definición:

Un ión es un átomo o grupo de átomos que tienen una carga eléctrica. Los iones con carga positiva se denominan cationes y los que tienen carga negativa se denomina aniones.

Los iones se pueden crear utilizando radiación, como los rayos-X. La radiación ionizante se utiliza frecuentemente para procedimientos diagnósticos o terapéuticos, dado que los iones que se producen se pueden utilizar para rastrear o tratar algunas enfermedades.
