Incidencia

Definición:

Es el número de casos nuevos de una enfermedad, un síntoma, muerte o lesión que se presentan durante un período de tiempo específico, como en un año. A menudo se expresa como el porcentaje de una población (por ejemplo, al 25% de los estadounidenses se les diagnosticó gripe en 2002).

La incidencia muestra la probabilidad de que una persona en esa población sea afectada por la enfermedad.
