Intoxicación con pinturas al óleo

Definición:

La intoxicación con pinturas a base de aceite ocurre cuando una gran cantidad de este tipo de pinturas llega al estómago o a los pulmones. También puede ocurrir si el tóxico entra en contacto con los ojos o con la piel.

Esto es sólo para fines de información y no para usarse en el tratamiento o manejo de una exposición tóxica real. Elemento tóxico:

Los hidrocarburos son el principal ingrediente tóxico en las pinturas a base de aceite.

Algunas pinturas a base de aceite tienen metales pesados, como plomo, mercurio, cobalto y bario, agregados como pigmentos, los cuales pueden ocasionar toxicidad adicional si se ingieren en grandes cantidades.
