Expectativas después de la cirugía:

La mayoría de las madres y los niños se recuperan bien, con pocos problemas.

Las mujeres que tienen partos por cesárea pueden tener un parto vaginal normal en los embarazos posteriores, dependiendo del tipo de cesárea efectuado y la razón por la que se realizó.

Muchas mujeres que intentan un parto vaginal después de un parto por cesárea tienen éxito. Sin embargo, hay un leve riesgo de ruptura uterina asociado con dichos intentos, que puede poner en peligro a la madre y el bebé. Es importante que la persona discuta los beneficios y riesgos de este procedimiento (PVDC) con su médico obstetra.

Convalecencia:

La estadía promedio en el hospital después de una cesárea es de 2 a 4 días y la recuperación se demora un poco más de lo que tardaría por un parto natural. Se estimula a la madre para que camine el mismo día de la cirugía para acelerar la recuperación. El dolor se puede manejar con medicamentos orales.
