Cirugía de hemorroides - Overview

Hemorroidectomía

Definición:

Es la extirpación de venas inflamadas alrededor del ano.

Descripción:

La cirugía de hemorroides se realiza con frecuencia como consulta externa o en el consultorio médico, con mínima o ninguna anestesia.

Las hemorroides se pueden extirpar quirúrgicamente usando una grapadora especial o suturas (puntos de sutura). Después de extirpar las hemorroides, usted puede quedar con suturas que se disuelven por sí solas y tapones de gasa para reducir el sangrado.

Otros tratamientos pueden abarcar:

  • Una inyección dentro de la hemorroide para reducir la hinchazón (escleroterapia).
  • Una banda de caucho alrededor de la hemorroide para interrumpir el riego sanguíneo hacia ella.
  • Reducir el tamaño de la hemorroide con calor o congelarla con nitrógeno líquido.
  • Una cirugía menor para tratar la hemorroide (hemorroidectomía).

Las hemorroides más pequeñas tal vez no necesiten cirugía.

Por qué se realiza el procedimiento:

La mayoría de las hemorroides se pueden manejar con cambios en el estilo de vida y la alimentación.

El médico puede recomendar la cirugía de hemorroides si los cambios en el estilo de vida y alimentación y los medicamentos no han funcionado.
