Gastrectomía

Definición:

Es una cirugía para extirpar parte o todo el estómago.

Descripción:

La cirugía se lleva a cabo bajo anestesia general, con el paciente inconsciente y sin sentir dolor. El cirujano hace una incisión en el abdomen y extrae una porción o todo el estómago, dependiendo de la razón de la operación. Luego, se reconecta el intestino a la porción remanente del estómago (gastrectomía parcial) o al esófago (gastrectomía total). Después de controlar el suministro de sangre, se cierra la abertura con suturas.

Indicaciones:

La gastrectomía se utiliza para tratar sangrado, inflamación, tumores no cancerosos o cáncer.
