Reparación del tendón - Overview

Tenoplastia

Definición:

Es la cirugía para reparar los tendones lesionados o desgarrados.

Descripción:

La reparación del tendón se puede llevar a cabo empleando:

  • Anestesia local (el área quirúrgica inmediata queda insensibilizada)
  • Anestesia regional (el área local y las áreas circundantes al área quirúrgica quedan insensibilizadas)
  • Anestesia general (con el paciente dormido y sin dolor)

El cirujano hace una incisión quirúrgica en la piel sobre el tendón afectado y se suturan los extremos lesionados o desgarrados de éste.

Si el tendón ha resultado gravemente lesionado, se puede requerir un injerto tendinoso. En este caso, a menudo se utiliza un segmento de tendón del pie, de un dedo del pie o de otra parte del cuerpo. Si es necesario, los tendones se vuelven a fijar al tejido conectivo circundante. El cirujano examina el área para ver si hay alguna lesión a los nervios y vasos sanguíneos. Al terminar, se cierra la incisión.

Por qué se realiza el procedimiento:

El objetivo de la tenoplastia es restaurar la función normal de las articulaciones o tejidos circundantes después de una laceración del tendón.
