Definición:

Es una cirugía para extirpar un tumor benigno de los vasos sanguíneos.

Descripción:

El procedimiento se hace bajo anestesia general (con la persona profundamente dormida y sin dolor).

El cirujano extirpa el hemangioma. En caso de que éste sea grande, el sitio se puede cubrir con un injerto de piel .

Indicaciones:

Este procedimiento se puede utilizar para extirpar hemangiomas grandes que ocasionen síntomas o sean deformantes.
