Los riesgos de la cirugía de mamas son:

  • Dificultad para amamantar
  • Pérdida de la sensibilidad en el área del pezón
  • Cicatrices pequeñas, por lo regular en un área donde no se ven mucho. Algunas mujeres pueden tener cicatrices gruesas y elevadas.
  • Posición desigual de los pezones
  • Tamaño o forma diferente de las dos mamas
  • Es normal que el cuerpo cree una “cápsula” hecha de tejido cicatricial alrededor del nuevo implante mamario, lo cual ayuda a mantener dicho implante en su lugar. Algunas veces, esta cápsula se vuelve más gruesa y más grande y puede causar un cambio en la forma de la mama, endurecimiento del tejido mamario o un poco de dolor.
  • Ruptura o filtración del implante
  • Ondulación visible del implante

Los riesgos emocionales de la cirugía pueden abarcar el hecho de sentir que las mamas no lucen perfectas o usted puede sentirse decepcionada con las reacciones de las personas frente a sus “nuevos” senos.
