Expectativas después de la cirugía:

La reparación de los testículos no descendidos es efectiva en la mayoría de los casos y sólo un pequeño porcentaje de los individuos (10%) tendrá problemas de fertilidad. (Ver infertilidad )

Los hombres que hayan tenido testículos no descendidos deben ser examinados mensualmente, a lo largo de sus vidas, con el fin de detectar cualquier posible desarrollo de tumor. Este tipo de individuos tiene tasas de cáncer testicular mayores que los varones con un desarrollo testicular normal.

Convalecencia:

La cirugía se puede realizar en calidad de procedimiento ambulatorio. Se recomienda reposo en cama durante los 2 ó 3 primeros días y se debe evitar la actividad vigorosa, incluyendo la bicicleta al menos durante 1 mes para permitir la rehabilitación del testículo en su nueva posición.
