Los riesgos que implica cualquier tipo de procedimiento con anestesia son:

Los riesgos que implica cualquier tipo de cirugía son:

  • Sangrado
  • Infección
  • Cicatrización

El sistema inmune del cuerpo considera al órgano trasplantado como una infección y por consiguiente lucha contra él. Por lo tanto, para prevenir el rechazo, los pacientes con trasplante de órgano deben tomar medicamentos (tales como ciclosporina y corticosteroides) que supriman la respuesta inmune del cuerpo. La desventaja de estos medicamentos es que debilitan las defensas naturales del cuerpo contra diversas infecciones.
