Otros riesgos del trasplante abarcan:

Coágulos de sangre (trombosis venosa profunda).
Diabetes, adelgazamiento de los huesos o niveles altos de colesterol a raíz de los medicamentos administrados después del trasplante.
Aumento del riesgo de infecciones debido a los medicamentos antirrechazo (inmunodepresión).
Daño a los riñones, el hígado u otros órganos a causa de los medicamentos antirrechazo.
Riesgo futuro de padecer ciertos cánceres.

Los riesgos de un trasplante de pulmón abarcan:

Problemas a nivel del lugar en donde se fijaron los nuevos vasos sanguíneos y vías respiratorias.
Rechazo del nuevo pulmón, lo cual puede suceder de inmediato, dentro de las primeras 4 a 6 semanas, o con el paso del tiempo.
