Cirugía del cerebro

Definición:

La cirugía del cerebro se realiza para tratar lesiones del cerebro y sus estructuras circundantes a través de una abertura (craneotomía) en el cráneo.

Descripción:

Se rasura el cabello en parte del cuero cabelludo; luego se limpia y se prepara para cirugía. Se hace una incisión a través del cuero cabelludo y se perfora un agujero a través del cráneo. Se saca un pedazo de cráneo, generalmente de manera temporal, y se lleva a cabo la cirugía. Posteriormente, el hueso se vuelve a colocar y se fijar en su sitio.
