Después del procedimiento:

Después de la cirugía, el equipo médico lo vigilará muy de cerca para constatar que su cerebro esté funcionando apropiadamente. El médico o el personal de enfermería pueden hacerle preguntas, ponerle una luz en los ojos y pedirle que realice tareas simples. Usted puede necesitar oxígeno durante unos días.

La cabecera de su cama se mantendrá levantada para ayudar a reducir la hinchazón de la cara o la cabeza, lo cual es normal.

Se le darán medicamentos para aliviar el dolor.

Normalmente, usted se quedará en el hospital durante 3 a 7 días. Puede necesitar fisioterapia (rehabilitación).

Pronóstico:

Su pronóstico después de una cirugía del cerebro depende de la enfermedad que se esté tratando, de su salud general, de cuál parte del cerebro está comprometida y del tipo específico de cirugía.
