Quemosis

Definición:

Es la hinchazón del tejido que recubre los párpados y la superficie del ojo (conjuntiva).

Consideraciones generales:

En general, la quemosis es un signo inespecífico de irritación del ojo, en la cual la cubierta de la superficie externa parece tener líquido dentro de ella. Con frecuencia, el área del ojo se inflama tanto que la persona no puede cerrar los ojos apropiadamente.

La quemosis a menudo está relacionada con una respuesta alérgica o una infección.
