Vómito con sangre

Definición:

Es la regurgitación de sangre desde el tracto gastrointestinal superior que incluye la boca, la faringe, el esófago (el tubo que lleva el alimento y las secreciones de la boca al estómago), el estómago y el intestino delgado.

Consideraciones generales:

El vómito con sangre se presenta después de un sangrado gastointestinal del tracto superior y es una condición que algunas veces puede ser difícil de diferenciar de la tos con sangre (de los pulmones) o del sangrado nasal (drenaje posnasal sanguinolento).

Las condiciones que producen vómitos con sangre pueden provocar también que haya sangre en las heces .
