Micción urgente o frecuente - Overview

Micción urgente; Polaquiuria y tenesmo vesical

Definición:

Micción frecuente significa que hay una necesidad de orinar más a menudo de lo normal, mientras que micción urgente se refiere a una urgencia repentina y poderosa de orinar, junto con molestia en la vejiga.

La necesidad frecuente de orinar durante la noche se llama nicturia. La mayoría de las personas pueden dormir entre 6 y 8 horas sin necesitar ir al baño. Los hombres de mediana edad y los de edad avanzada a menudo se despiertan para orinar una vez en la madrugada.

Causas comunes:

En conjunto, la frecuencia y la urgencia urinaria son signos clásicos de una infección de las vías urinarias.

La diabetes, el embarazo y problemas con la próstata son otras causas comunes de estos síntomas.

Entre otras causas están:

  • Ansiedad
  • Agrandamiento de la próstata
  • Cistitis intersticial
  • Medicamentos como los diuréticos
  • Síndrome de la vejiga hiperactiva
  • Prostatitis (infección de la glándula prostática)
  • Accidente cerebrovascular y otras enfermedades del cerebro o del sistema nervioso
  • Tumor o masa en la pelvis
  • Incontinencia urinaria
  • Vaginitis

Causas menos comunes:

Beber demasiado antes de ir a dormir, especialmente cafeína o alcohol, puede causar micción frecuente en la noche. La micción frecuente también puede ser simplemente sólo un hábito.
