Disminución del gasto urinario

Definición:

Es la reducción en la producción de orina a menos de 500 mililitros en 24 horas.

Consideraciones generales:

Aunque una disminución significativa en el gasto urinario o diuresis puede ser indicio de una afección grave e incluso potencialmente mortal, el gasto urinario adecuado se puede restablecer con un tratamiento médico oportuno.

Causas comunes:

Deshidratación por vómito, diarrea o fiebre, con una falta de ingestión adecuada de líquidos
Obstrucción total de las vías urinarias, como la ocasionada por el agrandamiento de la próstata
Infección severa que ocasiona shock
Medicamentos como los anticolinérgicos, el metotrexato y los diuréticos
