Deformidad por contractura - Treatment

Cuidados en el hogar:

La atención en el hogar es una prolongación de los cuidados prescritos por el médico. Por ejemplo, los ejercicios de fisioterapia deben continuarse en el hogar.

Se debe llamar al médico si:

Si al parecer se está desarrollando una contractura
Se nota una disminución en la capacidad para mover una articulación

Lo que se puede esperar en el consultorio médico:

El médico realiza un examen físico y hace preguntas acerca de la rigidez o la limitación del movimiento tales como:

¿Cuándo comenzó?
¿Qué tan grave es?¿Cómo la describiría? ¿Dónde se localiza?
¿Qué tanto movimiento hay?
¿Qué otros síntomas se presentan?

Es posible que se necesiten pruebas de diagnóstico, como una radiografía, dependiendo de la causa y tipo de la contractura.

La fisioterapia, los aparatos ortopédicos o las intervenciones quirúrgicas pueden servir para tratar algunos tipos de contracturas.
