Protuberancia en el abdomen

Definición:

Es una protrusión suave de tejido o una pequeña área de inflamación localizada en la región ventral.

Causas comunes:

Con mucha frecuencia, una protuberancia en el abdomen es causada por una hernia. Una hernia abdominal ocurre cuando hay un área donde los músculos son débiles, lo cual permite que los órganos internos protruyan a través de la pared abdominal.

Una hernia se puede formar en el lugar donde se hizo un corte quirúrgico. Es posible que una hernia quirúrgica no aparezca hasta después de hacer un esfuerzo, levantar un objeto pesado o toser durante un período prolongado.
