Prominencia frontal - Treatment

Cuidados en el hogar:

No hay necesidad de atención en el hogar para la prominencia frontal y los cuidados en el hogar para problemas asociados con este síntoma varían de acuerdo con el problema específico.

Se debe llamar al médico si:

Si se observa que la frente del niño luce inusualmente prominente.

Lo que se puede esperar en el consultorio médico:

Un bebé o un niño con prominencia frontal generalmente presenta otros síntomas y signos que, tomados en conjunto, definen un síndrome o afección específica. El diagnóstico está basado en un antecedente familiar, la historia clínica y la evaluación física completa.

Algunas de las preguntas de la historia clínica que documentan en detalle la prominencia frontal pueden ser:

  • ¿Cuándo se notó por primera vez que la frente tenía una apariencia prominente inusual?
  • ¿Qué otros síntomas están presentes?
  • ¿Se ha notado cualquier otra característica física inusual?
  • ¿Se ha identificado un trastorno como la causa de la prominencia frontal?
  • ¿Si así ocurrió, cuál fue el diagnóstico?

Se pueden solicitar estudios de laboratorio para confirmar la presencia de un trastorno sospechoso.
