La extracción de sangre conlleva un pequeño riesgo de sangrado, formación de hematoma e infección en el sitio involucrado.

Consideraciones especiales:

El perfil TORCH sirve para reducir las posibilidades de una infección congénita, pero si el resultado es positivo, se requieren pruebas adicionales para un diagnóstico definitivo. Asimismo, es posible que sea necesario realizar una evaluación a la madre con el fin de interpretar los exámenes de sangre del recién nacido.
