Presión arterial - Results

Presión arterial diastólica; Presión arterial sistólica

Valores normales:

En los adultos, el número mayor ideal (presión sistólica) debe ser menos de 120 mmHg y el número inferior (presión diastólica) de menos de 80 mmHg.

Significado de los resultados anormales:

Prehipertensión:

  • El número superior constantemente es de 120 a 139 o el número inferior de 80 a 89.

Etapa 1: hipertensión leve

  • El número superior constantemente es de 140 a 159 o el número inferior de 90 a 99.

Etapa 2: hipertensión arterial de moderada a severa

  • El número superior constantemente es de 160 o más o el número inferior de 100 o más.

Presión arterial baja (hipotensión):

  • La lectura del número superior es inferior a 90 o la presión de 25 mmHg inferior a lo usual.

Las lecturas de la presión arterial pueden ser afectadas por muchas enfermedades diferentes, entre otras las siguientes:

  • Trastornos cardiovasculares
  • Afecciones neurológicas
  • Trastornos renales y urológicos
  • Preeclampsia en mujeres embarazadas
  • Factores psicológicos como estrés, ira o miedo
  • Diversos medicamentos
  • La "hipertensión de la bata blanca" se puede presentar si la visita médica en sí produce ansiedad extrema
