Cuáles son los riesgos:

Existe un riesgo mínimo de exposición a la radiación (menor al que se presenta con las radiografías o con las TC). La exposición a la radiación de cualquier tipo usualmente no es recomendable para las mujeres embarazadas, para las mujeres lactantes ni para los niños pequeños, a menos que los beneficios del examen sean mayores que sus riesgos.

Consideraciones especiales:

No todos los tipos de cáncer aparecen en una gammagrafía con galio.
