Consideraciones especiales:

Este examen tiene aproximadamente un 90% de confiabilidad.

Los pacientes con enfermedad hepática pueden presentar problemas de coagulación. Después de la venopunción, puede ser necesario aplicar presión en el sitio de la punción por algunos minutos para asegurarse de que el sangrado se ha detenido.

Las venas y arterias varían de tamaño de un paciente a otro y de un lado del cuerpo a otro, razón por la cual puede ser más difícil obtener una muestra de sangre en algunas personas que en otras.
